Azerbaijan vs Serbia
World Cup Qualifying – Group A
Date: Tuesday 30th March 2021
Kick off at 17:00 UK/ 18:00 CET
Venue: Baku National Stadium.
Serbia will be the clear odds on favourites to win this game despite being away from home and the nation has impressed in their 2 games played already.
Serbia started their campaign with a 3-2 win over Republic of Ireland and have followed that up at the weekend by drawing 2-2 with Portugal. However some will say they were lucky as with no VAR in place it appeared that Cristiano Ronaldo had scored the winner for the Portuguese.
What has been apparent with Serbia is that they are scoring goals and have 5 so far and they should be able to add to that on Tuesday evening. Form is good for the nation and they haven’t lost a match since last October.
Azerbaijan are probably favourites to finish bottom of the group or 2nd to last at the best. However they did extremely well only to lose 1-0 away to Portugal in their previous game and they have only played once so far. But the bookmakers see them as big outsiders here and with some they are priced up as high as 11.00 to win.
The gulf in class between the teams is there for all to see but not too many people will be backing Serbia to win at 1.30. The better choice will be looking at the goals markets.
Serbia are a great price for example to score 3 goals or more and considering they have put 10 past their opponents in the last two meetings and are scoring many goals in this group this looks like a solid choice.
For smaller stakes back the correct score at big value and it is worth noting that in the two games the nations have played Azerbaijan did manage to score on both occasions.
Ultimately this is a game that the away side need to win as Portugal will increase the pressure in 2nd place to try and top the group.
Serbia to score 3+ goals at 2.75 (7/4)
Correct Score: Serbia to win 3-1 or 5-1 at 13.00 (12/1) and 51.00 (50/1) respectively.
