Austin host Sporting Kansas City in a very important Western Conference matchup on Saturday evening at Q2 Stadium.
The two teams are separated by just three points despite sitting 6th and 11th respectively in the Western Conference standings.
The hosts will be hoping to rebound from a 2-1 defeat at the hands of direct playoffs rivals Vancouver Whitecaps on Wednesday night.
Sporting KC, on the other side, shared spoils with 4th-placed Real Salt Lake in an eventful 2-2 stalemate three days ago.
The loss to Vancouver snapped Austin’s four-game unbeaten streak. They had won three outings along the way and they will fancy their chances of returning to winning ways this time around.
