Monza bounced back from the opening defeat to Inter Milan by beating Empoli 2-0 on the home patch last weekend.

They have thus boosted the spirits in the dressing room ahead of the tough trip to Bergamo and the clash against Atalanta in Matchday No 3.

The entire attacking line did an excellent job but we must particularly praise the likes of Andrea Colpani and Patrick Ciurria.

The former completed a brace seven days ago while the latter contributed with an assist and several other key passes in the final third.

Monza are a team capable of causing problems to any side in the country on their day. They certainly have what it takes to hurt Atalanta, especially after La Dea’s dismal showing in a 2-1 defeat last weekend at Frosinone.

Gianpiero Gasperini’s men thus ruined a positive start to the season and a 0-2 victory at Sassuolo by conceding two early goals last weekend.

On another note, we must say that Atalanta had previously kept three consecutive clean sheets, a run that includes a goalless draw to Juventus in their final preseason exhibition.

Atalanta are 1.61 favorites to claim the spoils on Saturday but it is hard to find the value there knowing how tricky Monza can be as an opposition. Knowing how slow La Dea’s back line started the last weekend’s game at Frosinone, we would not be surprised to see the visitors getting an early breakthrough in Bergamo.

The main bet will be Monza to score in the first half at the 2.62 odds while we will alternatively take the Both Teams To Score option at the 1.75 odds.
