Armenia vs Bosnia-Herzegovina Prediction & Match Preview

Peter Green - September 6, 2019

Armenia vs Bosnia-Herzegovina
EURO Qualification
Date: Sunday, 8 September 2019
Kick-off at 14:00 UK / 15:00 CET
Venue:  Republican Stadium (Jerevan).

Armenia were at the losing end of a 2-1 scoreline when the two teams last squared up against each other in the qualifiers. Although the margin may seem narrow, the game was anything but in all honesty.

Bosnia were a force to reckon with in the final third and registered nineteen attempts at goal in that clash, fourteen more than what their hosts were able to manage. It also needs saying that the home team had just two wins under their belt when they met Italy on Thursday, and will be banking heavily on home advantage to see them through the ninety minutes this weekend.

The away side will be coming into the clash with the Armenians on the back of a disappointing two-match losing streak on the road. However, given that they have already got the better of this opponent once, you can count on Bosnia to fancy their chances of coming out on top at the last blast of the whistle.

Armenia vs Bosnia-Herzegovina Head to head (h2h)

  • Their last three encounters have seen Armenia admit defeat.
  • Bosnia tasted success with a 2-1 scorecard in their last clash.
  • Two of their previous three fixtures have seen over 2.5 goals on the charts.
  • Bosnia have kept a clean sheet once, while their counterparts are yet to keep one.

Armenia vs Bosnia-Herzegovina Prediction

All of the points that the away side have picked up so far have come from their clashes on home soil. That alone does not guarantee a win for Armenia in this one though. To Bosnia’s defense, their previous two trips on the road where against Finland and Italy, both of whom are front runners to top Group J.

On the other hand, Armenia are a far less competitive side in comparison and have never gotten the better of this foe in their previous meetings with each other either. The visitors have also slotted eight goals past Armenia from their overall clashes and have conceded no more than two in the process as well.

So, there is certainly every reason to back Bosnia to bring their dismal away streak to a halt this weekend.

Two out of their last three matchups between each other have been high scoring ones, with over 2.5 goals on the charts. Considering that their last head to head fixture featured three goals on the scorecards as well, expect the two sides to rack up a total of three or more goals in this one.
