Anderlecht vs Union Saint-Gilloise

Union Saint Gilloise returned to the top flight of Belgian football after 48 years. They used to be one of the most famous teams in the country back at the beginning of the previous century.
Union won as many as 11 First Division A titles, but the previous one came in the 1934/35 season. Nevertheless, they are finally back to the top tier, ready to experience the life in the company of the best teams in the country.
The first test for Felice Mazzu and his troops will be a tough one as they need to travel to the capital to take on Anderlecht.
While Anderlecht were in a big shadow of Club Brugge (especially) and Genk in the last several years, they always have strong ambitions and one could never underestimate their chances of fighting for the crown in their country.
It will be very interesting to see how Anderlecht will line up and look like at the beginning of the new campaign. They made a plethora of changes in their squad this summer. The fans are mainly exciting about the prospects of Benito Raman (Schalke’s left-winger) and Sergio Gomez (Dortmund’s attacking midfielder).
Union Saint Gilloise played some high-scoring thrillers in recent friendlies. They saw off Amiens 4-3 in their final pre-season test. We would not be surprised to see them on the scoresheet against this new Anderlecht team.
However, the hosts remain favorites to pick up the victory in front of their fans against the recently-promoted side. The Home Win & Both Teams To Score seems like a great betting option at the odds of 3.25.
