Albania vs France
EURO Qualification
Date: Sunday, 17 November 2019
Kick-off at 19:45 UK / 20:45 CET
Venue: Arena Kombëtare (Tirana).
Albania’s biggest test has been kept for last, as they welcome the 2018 World Cup Champions to their home this week. France, on the other hand, have set their eyes on progressing from the qualifiers as nothing but the table toppers. Hence, with no more than a two-point cushion at the top for the latter, Albania should expect no mercy from the visiting contingent whatsoever.
Albania played out an exciting 2-2 draw against Andorra last week at home, and are now boasting a two-game unbeaten streak at the moment. Edoardo Reja’s men have certainly been a lot more resilient in the comforts of their home.
They have not been at the losing end in any of their last three games on home soil. And have also garnered seven points from a possible nine in the process.
Be that as it may, the stature of the team involved this week alone, is certain to send shivers down the Albanian dugout. The away side are on a stellar seven-match undefeated run, six of which, have seen them emerge victoriously.
It is also worth mentioning that with three wins out of four, Didier Deschamps men are sporting the best away record in Group H as well. Furthermore, the visitors made light work of this foe in the reverse fixture with a whopping 4-1 scoreline.
Taking into account that Albania have not got the better of France in any of their last four meetings overall either, it is certainly safe to count on the visiting contingent to win both halves with ease this Sunday.
Additionally, France have been running riot in the final third with twenty-three goals to their name, which is seven more than any other side in the cluster. Albania have not been shy in finding the back of the net as well, and have scored two goals or more in each of their last three games here.
As such a high scoring clash is definitely looming large as neither teams are expected to hold back in this one.
